SURROGACY SUPPORT & EDUCATION
Psycho-social assessments
Why complete a psycho-social assessment?
An assessment will review relevant family, medical or psychological history and identify whether there are any markers that might pose a challenge during the surrogacy process. It provides implication counselling and explanation of risks so parties are adequately prepared and screened to proceed. For intended parents using a donor, this assessment also includes genetic counselling and implications of donor conception.
Assessments are 90 minutes and length and include a detailed interview, a review of best practices and time for questions. A clearance letter and report will be sent directly to your fertility clinic to be added to yours, or your surrogates medical file.
We take a thorough approach to these evaluations and strictly follow the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society’s Counselling Practice Guidelines.
All partners are required to be present during the call.
